Position Summary | Position Summary: The Department of Psychology at Indiana University – Indianapolis is seeking applications for a full-time (12-month) non-tenure track Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor position with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2023. The primary responsibility is to be the Assistant Director of Clinical Training for the American Psychological Association-accredited PhD program in Clinical Psychology. This Clinical track position will be appointed within the Psychology Department, and the successful candidate will be a core member of the Clinical Psychology program faculty, replacing our current Assistant Director who is retiring after 30 years in our department. Primary responsibilities include growing and fostering our clinical practica offerings, interacting with clinical supervisors and sites, charting clinical training competencies and progress through the program, providing didactic instruction in clinical psychology and training, managing all graduate student external practica, evaluating students’ developing clinical competencies, assisting the Director of Clinical Training with administrative tasks of the program, teaching advanced clinical intervention courses, working closely with the Director of the in-house training clinic to ensure developmental sequencing of training. The PhD program in Clinical Psychology prepares students for careers as researchers, educators, direct service providers, and administrators. Although the program provides strong clinical training, we adhere to a Clinical Science model, with primary emphasis on the methods of behavioral science accompanied by unusually rich opportunities for research and training. Clinical track faculty are full members of the department faculty and are expected to demonstrate excellence in the areas of teaching, clinical practice, or service for promotion. Basic Qualifications: Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree (i.e., PhD, PsyD) and training in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field (e.g., counseling psychology). The successful candidate must be licensed by the State of Indiana and credentialed as a Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP) or must be prepared to acquire these credentials as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications: Specific area of specialization is open; however, successful candidates should have training and expertise in evidence-based treatment, assessment, and supervision. Specialty in one of the program’s emphasis areas (i.e., Health Psychology, Severe Mental Illness, or Substance Use) is welcomed but not required. IUPUI is an EOE/AA employer.
