MPA 2022 COVID-19 Mask and Vaccine Requirements (as of March 23rd)

Please note MPA is continuing it’s COVID-19 mitigation efforts but we have updated those policies.

The mask and vaccine requirements are listed below. Please note the change in point 3:

(1) Masks are still required in all conference rooms for all attendees regardless of vaccination status.

(2) All attendees (e.g., presenters, attendees, family members attending single sessions) must either be fully vaccinated (see HERE for what it means to be fully vaccinated), or…

(3) For those people who are not vaccinated, they may attend if and only if they show proof of a negative rapid-antigen test or PCR test, administered by a medical professional, within 3 days of entering the conferenceA negative at home test will NOT be accepted.

FOR VACCINATED ATTENDEES: You can upload your card NOW! Click HERE for info about how to do so. People will be considered fully vaccinated if they meet the following criteria:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
  • International attendees who have vaccination records from their home country will also be accepted

If you don’t meet these requirements, you are NOT fully vaccinated.

FOR THOSE PROVIDING A NEGATIVE TEST: Anyone who is not vaccinated will be required to show a negative rapid-antigen test or negative PCR test, performed by a medical professional, within 3 days of the conference. A negative at home test will NOT be accepted. Attendees will be responsible for getting their test either before they leave or upon arriving in Chicago.

Family members attending a single session?

Yes, they can 100% attend and should register but it’s slightly different and less expensive.
Make sure they read over the rules for registering regarding COVID mitigation efforts. These rules apply to family members attending single sessions too.
To register, all they’ll need to do is come to the 4th floor Exhibit Hall (where all registration happens) about 25-30 minutes before the session they want to attend. Tell the people at the desk that they’d like a single session “family” pass and how many passes they need. They’ll make them a pass on the spot (after they show their vaccine card) and the charge is $10 for each pass (less than the regular rate).

  • Pre-Registration closes about four weeks before the conference and will not be reopened.
  • If you would like to register a group of 10 or more undergraduate students, please send the Executive Officer an excel spreadsheet that lists each person’s full nameemail address, and university or institutional affiliation. Also, please include cell phone number for each person (we need it this year to text people links to upload their COVID vaccine info).
  • Registrations cannot be switched with other attendees.
  • We DO NOT REPRINT BADGES. If you forget your badge, you will need to go back and get it or re-register on site.
