Tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Slipper Rock University

The Psychology Department at Slippery Rock University is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2023 in the area of Clinical or Counseling Psychology.

Responsibilities:  The applicant will teach undergraduate Research Methods, Statistics, Introduction to Psychology, and beginning and advanced clinical courses, with the opportunity to develop courses in the applicant’s specialty area. The teaching load is 4/4.

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program is required. ABD applications will be accepted; the Ph.D. must be completed by August 1, 2023.

The candidate for the position must have an active research program that is appropriate for involvement with undergraduate students. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations. Successful performance in an on-campus interview, research presentation, and teaching demonstration on a topic area chosen by the search committee are required.

Preferred Qualifications: University level teaching experience; demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence; evidence of teaching effectiveness; dedication to department and university service; experience in teaching APA-style writing across the curriculum.

Teaching experience in clinical courses (e.g., Abnormal Psychology; Introduction to Clinical Psychology), Research Methods, Statistics, and/or Introduction to Psychology is strongly preferred. In addition, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to mentoring student research.
