Janet Hyde to Speak at MPA

Dr. Janet Hyde will give the Psi Chi Distinguished Address at this year’s meeting of the Midwestern Psychological Association. Dr. Hyde is an expert in the psychology of women and has spent most of her professional career developing and advancing this division of psychology.  She serves as professor of psychology and women’s studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Hyde is perhaps best known for the Gender Similarities Hypothesis. Her meta-analytic work shows that, overall, men and women are more psychologically alike than they are different. Dr. Hyde’s talk at MPA is entitled, Men Are from Earth, Women Are from Earth: The Gender Similarities Hypothesis.

Dr. Hyde’s will speak during the MPA Annual Meeting at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, May 1-3, 2014. Attendees are welcome to register for the meeting at midwesternpsych.org.
